From Hong Kong, promotion of the IET's Inspec database and facilities and support for members' activities in the region are provided by the Asia Pacific Representative Office.

Inspec Asia Pacific Office opened in March 2003. The prime objective of the office is: to promote excellence in scientific and technical research; to conduct promotion activities to potential or current customers of the Inspec database; to provide training courses for the customers and the Sales Representatives of vendors/agents in the Asia Pacific region.
It is also staffed by Global Branch Operations as the initial point of contact for Branches, Groups and Forums to IET HQ as well as to provide operational guidance and support to Branches, Forums and Groups in the region. It acts as the branch office for Hong Kong. In addition, the co-ordination of other IET activities are also supported.
The office is located in Jardine House, one of the most prestigious buildings in Central district. This is the prime commercial area in HK. Both the Central underground station and the terminal for the airport express train are within a few minutes walking distance. The office has a conference room which can accommodate over 20 people. A drop-in desk is also available for HK and global members of IET.
