Virtual tour of the IET library services

PowerPoint and pdf demonstrations on using the Virtual library and other services for helping with your research. 

For a quick or in-depth demonstration on how to use the Virtual library for your research click the links to the PowerPoint or pdf presentations on the right of this page.

They will take you through the process of searching each virtual library product, such as Knovel and Wiley e-books and information databases by EbscoHost. It will also give you information on other library resources you could use for your research.

How to view the PowerPoint Presentations:
  • The "Quick research demo" PowerPoint presentation is designed for final year student projects.
    The topic is "Renewable energy integration with the distribution grid".
  • The "In-depth research demo" PowerPoint presentation is designed for all IET members to help with their research.
    The topics covered are "Aerospace and Radar" and "Mobile telecommunications"

To read through the PowerPoint presentation most effectively, please note the following:

  • By pressing the Shift and F5 key together, you will be able to view the presentation in full display mode.
  • The presentations will then automatically scroll through.
  • Pressing the Escape (Esc) key will take you out of the presentation.  
  • Hover your mouse at the bottom of the presentation to activate the controls to move the presentation forwards or backwards.
