Help for users of the Virtual Library

Download demonstrations on using the Virtual Library and other services from the IET Library, and find answers to frequently asked questions.

These presentations take you through the process of searching each Virtual Library product, such as Knovel and Wiley e-books and information databases by EbscoHost. They will also give you information on other resources you could use for your research.

How to view the Microsoft PowerPoint presentations:

  • The "Quick research demo" presentation is designed for final year student projects.  The topic is "Renewable energy integration with the distribution grid".
  • The "In-depth research demo" presentation is designed for all IET members to help with their research.  The topics covered are "Aerospace and radar" and "Mobile telecommunications".

To use the PowerPoint presentations most effectively, please note the following:

  • By pressing the Shift and F5 key together, you will be able to view the presentation in full display mode.
  • The presentations will then automatically scroll through.
  • Pressing the Escape (Esc) key will take you out of the presentation.  
  • Hover your mouse at the bottom of the presentation to activate the controls to move the presentation forwards or backwards.
